Hilton Head Island dentist Dr. Timothy Gross is proud to offer our patients the safest, most effective, and most advanced dental technology available. Our state-of-the-art technology is designed to make your procedures both more comfortable and more precise. Dr. Gross regularly pursues continuing education to stay on top of the latest developments in dental science.
Our Dental Technology
For general dentistry procedures, Dr. Gross uses digital diagnostic tools, including digital x-rays and digital intra-oral cameras. These devices are not only safer for our patients, they also offer a much more detailed and accurate picture of your teeth and gums.
Dr. Gross uses DIAGNOdent laser technology to detect tooth decay: a laser diode that compares reflection wavelength against a healthy baseline wavelength to identify even the smallest amount of tooth decay. These revolutionary diagnostic tools help us ensure your teeth and gums remain as healthy as possible.
In addition to the DIAGNOdent laser, Dr. Gross uses soft tissue diode lasers in many procedures. Soft tissue lasers are capable of safely removing excess gum tissue, enhancing periodontal therapy, and assisting in the the preparation of tooth restorations, such as porcelain veneers and dental crowns. Lasers are extremely precise, reducing your risk of bleeding and infection with minimal to no post-treatment discomfort.
SonicFill is the latest system for filling teeth with tooth colored fillings. It uses sonic wave technology to make filling material adapt more closely to the tooth and speeds the process of filling placement to nearly half that of conventional fillings.
Home Sleep Study Monitors such as the Medibyte are used by Dr. Gross to screen patients for sleep apnea and other sleep disorders and to test the success of his patients’ sleep apnea appliances.
Neuromuscular Dentistry Technology
If you need neuromuscular dentistry services (e.g. to diagnose and treat TMD/TMJ), Dr. Gross offers the state-of-the-art K7 instrumentation system. K7 dental technology provides Dr. Gross with jaw tracking, electromyography and joint sonography information that is essential in order to evaluate TMJ disorder and create a custom treatment plan.
Neuromuscular Dentistry is also essential for the treatment of sleep apnea, headaches, cosmetic dental reconstructions and orthodontics/bite correction.
